The Perfect Mix—Market, Mortgage & Margaritas! (and Marshall and MacLeod)

A Great Homebuying Experience Starts with the Right Recipe
What do buying a home and a great margarita have in common? The right mix makes all the difference! And just like you wouldn’t trust a rookie to make your cocktail, you shouldn’t trust just anyone with your home purchase. That’s why I’ve partnered with mortgage expert Mitzi Marshall to make the process smooth, stress-free, and—of course—worthy of a 🎉 celebratory margarita at the finish line! The three essential steps to closing, in honor of National Margarita Day 😉 Remember, there's no Lime 🍋🟩 like the present when it comes to starting those important real estate conversations and Shaking up your living situation.
Here’s our simple 3-step recipe for homebuying success:
1️⃣ Market Advice – With my expertise in finding The Perfect Spot, I’ll help you navigate neighborhoods, negotiate the best deal, and make sure you feel confident in your investment.
2️⃣ Mortgage – Mitzi ensures your financing is seamless, stress-free, and tailored to your goals. No surprises, no headaches—just the right mortgage solution for you.
3️⃣ Margaritas! – When we get to the closing table, it’s time to toast to your new home with a well-earned cocktail. And since I love a good celebration, here’s one of my favorite recipes to shake up at your housewarming:
Spicy Blood Orange Margarita 🍊🌶️
You’ll just need 5 simple ingredients (plus optional garnishes) to make these wonderful spicy blood orange margaritas:
•2 oz tequila
•1 oz fresh blood orange juice
•¾ oz fresh lime juice
•½ oz agave syrup
•1-2 slices fresh jalapeño
•Tajín or salt for the rim (garnish)
•Blood orange or lime wedge for garnish (garnish)
- Tequila: I like to use silver tequila in my margaritas, but reposado tequila is another great option if you like a more oak-y or aromatic flavor.
- Simple syrup or Agave Syrup both work.
- Juice: we’re shaking both fresh lime juice and fresh blood orange juice for a refreshing flavor. You’ll LOVE how delicious the blood orange juice is!
- Jalapeño: because this is a spicy margarita, you’ll add jalapeño slices right to the shaker, but muddle them first! YUM.
- For serving: I like to rim the glass with tajín or salt, plus add thin blood orange slices for a pretty garnish. Don’t forget the lime and jalapenos!
Customize your margarita
Because this blood orange margarita is made with just a few ingredients, it’s also easy to customize based on your taste preferences. Here are some ways to make it your own:
-
- Add bubbles: a little club soda on top would make this a fun, bubbly margarita! Champagne would be sooo extra! 🍾
- Choose the spice level🌶️🌶️🌶️: if you’re sensitive to spice, simply use fewer jalapeño slices or omit them altogether. Or add more if you are like me!
Buying a home doesn’t have to be overwhelming—when you have the right team, it’s as smooth (and fun!) as sipping a perfectly crafted cocktail. Ready to mix up a plan for your next move? Let’s chat!
